History of Nasi Lemak Janda
Nasi lemak lovers would enjoy this "Warung" (Stall) for these reasons:-
1. Choice of flavor and taste on nasi lemak
2. Choice of dessert and kuih-muih
3. Choice of drinks
4. Ambience of the "warung"
Variety of nasi lemak is cooked by widows from Limbongan, Bachang, Malim, Terendak and Peringgit. I enjoy my local-style breakfast here. There is a story of its origin in this video.
"We started the first shop in Bandar Hilir, next to JPJ in 1980. In 1990, JPJ started to shift to Bukit Katil.
My father lost his customers then. We had no choice.
My father shifted his shop to Malim Jaya and the industrial area had just begun.
Those time in 1991, my father started here in Malim Jaya, there was one widow, and she wanted to "tumpang nasi lemak" at my father's shop.
My father said, "Okay lah, just help her to do her business also lah" So, as we do not sell makan, we relied on her to supply "nasi lemak" to our shop. So, that's where we started "Janda lah" ~ Rafi.
