LOCAHOUZ, dine and enjoy in one of Melaka's preserved shophouses

In medium and small size Malaysian towns, Chinese shophouses combine both for commercial and residential uses, they do businesses on the ground floor and lives on the upper floors.

A love for close social proximity, good uses of living space, and tolerable to circumstances, the Chinese have formulated both the cultural and economic factors through the close association between commercial and residential uses of space.

Melaka is lucky because the Chinese have contributed their architectural styles by introducing fine craftsmanship, and decoration and is evidenced at Locahouz, 8 Jalan Bukit Cina, 75100 Melaka and other Chinese dwellings in Melaka even today.

In Locahouz, you can see fine carved details in wood and stone, with gilt, lacquer and porcelain displayed while you enjoy your bites of great food amidst chatting and laughing with your loved ones.

Very few such shophouses remained, the Chinese architectural traditions at Locahouz have always been involved with geomancy good for one who lives or dine within.

Looks like the abode of a wealthy family, footways tiled yesteryears though aged are still looking great and the Venetian window is beautiful below the air verandah. Hazy with a moderate AQI of 90 outside, chlorophylled indoor plant by the bright sun with branches dangling above cheerful fishes in large vases magically transformed my dining experience by boosting the appetite never like usual. Allow me to say, heavenly.
My table is just below the air verandah.

Brunch at Locahouz

A handsome waiter takes my daughter order at 11:04:26 a.m. after I asked her permission to leave the table to video shoot the wealthy architectural preservation to share with you here.

She ordered;

Pork Belly Hot Sauce Pumpkin, Green Salad, Organic Green Tea and Chrysanthemum Caffe Latte.

Let’s stop reading and continue to watch my experience with Locahouz here.

Have you try?
