Sun Wukong Temple 大悲水

Today I witnessed the ceremonial ritual for the deity Tua Pek Kong in the temple named Sun Wukong (in simplified Chinese 大悲水). This temple is unique. It sits on rocky terrain and slopes.

I followed a group visit by the Yong Chuan Temple from Melaka.

Wukong was put to guard the Peaches of Immortality for the Heaven but he ate all instead. On finding out Wukong ate the peaches, the Jade Emperor informed Buddha what Wukong had done.

Sun Wukong was laid immobilized beneath the weight of Buddha's mountain for more than 500 years. It was said Wukong was born from a magical rock.

Wukong has unmatched superhuman strength with his 72 different magical abilities.
