衛生部呼籲加強邊境管制，包括對從國外返回的個人進行風險評估，以防止 Lambda 變種傳播到該國。
衛生總幹事丹斯里努爾·希瑟姆·阿卜杜拉博士周五（8 月 13 日）表示，該部尚未在該國發現涉及 Lambda 變體的病例，並將通過運行全基因組序列來檢測任何變體的出現來進一步增強其能力關注 (VOC)。
關於該國用於對抗病毒的疫苗，Noor Hisham 博士說，這些疫苗在應對 Delta 變體方面是有效的，納閩和砂拉越的住院人數和死亡人數減少就證明了這一點。
